Jerry Linger, age 90, of Buckhannon, WV, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Holbrook Healthcare Center in Buckhannon. She was born December 11, 1933, in Indian Camp, WV, a daughter of the late Troy Edward and Florence Pearl Newcome Cunningham. On August 1, 1952, she married O Wayne Linger who preceded her in death on March 6, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Perry Wayne and Mark Alan Linger; two grandsons, Christopher Gail Linger and Jared Ray Sears; one granddaughter, Alleen Danielle Linger; two brothers, Bradford and Edward Earl Cunningham and one sister, Etta Darleen Gillum. Mrs. Linger is survived by three daughters, Brenda Rose McCourt and husband Charlie of Buckhannon, Connie Linger of Elkins, WV and Karen Sears of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Kyle Ray Linger and wife Marilyn of Buckhannon; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Linger was a Christian and had a strong lifelong trust and belief in God that she called upon in every part of her life. Her family was everything to her and she enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. In her younger years, she enjoyed the community gatherings at Indian Camp Normal. Friends will be received Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Rev.
