I walked the yard and spent so much time with Grandma Jerry when I was just a little thing. I could tell you where every one of her hundreds of beautiful flowers were and what they were called. Every time my dad would try to walk through her yard, I'd have him tiptoeing because he didn't know when I'd shout, "STOP, GRANDMA'S FLOWERS ARE RIIIIIGHT THEEEERE!" Poor fella. Grandma and I walked around barefoot, especially after a good rain, just to check on her flowers. When I would cry for my mom while she was at work, Grandma would hold me and cry with me because she missed her mom, too. (Violet Pearl is named after Great Grandma Pearl.) She spent so much time with me, and she would tell me all about Jesus, and her mom and dad, and how she had seen Heaven briefly once. I learned all about how much Jesus loved me from Grandma Jerry. I saw her pray over and over, and she taught me to pray any time I needed to. She helped me learn the model prayer ("The Lord's Prayer") and she made me a wall hanging with the prayer written in her beautiful script that I will have displayed in my home as long as I live. I can't say The Lord's Prayer without seeing it in her handwriting in my mind. She made absolutely sure I knew where my eternal home would be if I accepted Jesus in my heart as my savior, knowing He died on the cross for my sins. She led me to the Lord. She made sure I got baptized when I asked to be allowed to get baptized at Bean's Mill many years ago. I've seen her sit up all hours praying for her kids in their travels. I have no doubt that I am living out many of her prayers for me today. She made the BEST food, and if you left her house with an empty stomach... you're going to have to tell me how you did it. I love Grandma Jerry so much. So many memories involve her, and she was extremely influential in me becoming who I am (the good parts lol). Grandma went to be with Jesus. No more pain, no tears, and no doubt a celebration in Heaven.

Mom. You were so joyful. Many times you played with me when I was a child and you had as much fun as I did. You taught me about the enjoyment of writing and music. You loved your family with all your heart. I miss the talks we had and I miss you so much. You made sure Christmas was the best for all of us kids. I’ll love you forever!! Your youngest daughter Karen.
