Jeffrey C. St. Clair
Owner, President, Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Crematory Operator
Jeffrey Conard St. Clair is the son of M. Conard and Irma Nancy Roberson St. Clair. Jeff graduated Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1969. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Camp Hovey, South Korea for 14 months during the Vietnam War. On July 26, 1975, Jeff married Kathryn L. Chandler. He attended WVWC and Beckley College of Mortuary Science and became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1980. Jeff and Kathy have two daughters, Sarah K. St. Clair and Kimberly D. St. Clair Cabrera and three grandchildren, Tucker M., Holden A. and Aurora Bryn Cabrera
Codi V. Cabrera
Vice President, Licensee in Charge, Certified Crematory Operator
Codi graduated from Morgantown High School in 2008 and from Fairmont State University in 2013. On March 19, 2011, he married Kimberly D. St. Clair, daughter of Jeff and Kathy St. Clair. Together, Kim and Codi have two sons, Tucker M. and Holden A. Cabrera and one daughter, Aurora Bryn Cabrera. Codi started working at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in March of 2012 and began his apprenticeship in July 2013. Codi is a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in October 2016 and completed his National and State Board exams. "I have fallen in love with this community and its people. Families have been very welcoming to me and I will show them the same compassion that they have shown to me".
Sarah K. St. Clair
Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Crematory Operator
Sarah is the daughter of Jeff and Kathy St.Clair. She graduated Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1998 and Radford University in 2002, with a degree in Communication. She fondly recalls spending many evenings of her youth working visitations along side her father and grandfather. Sarah began working at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home in September of 2016. Sarah is excited to be back home in Buckhannon and honored to have the opportunity to serve our community by working at the Poling-St.Clair Funeral Home.
Angela J. Hollen
Office Manager
Angie is a lifelong resident of Buckhannon and graduated from BUHS in 1987. A month after graduating high school, she started working for the funeral home. Angie is excited to be part of the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home staff and looks forward to helping families and their loved ones.
Cameron Workman
Apprentice Funeral Director & Certified Crematory Operator
Cameron graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 2015 and Fairmont State University in 2020. He started working at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in July 2022, and began his apprenticeship in September 2022. In March of 2024, he earned his Crematory Operator Certification and is now a certified crematory operator. Cameron is also the Freshman Basketball Coach at Buckhannon Upshur High School. “I’m conscientious about helping families celebrate the lives of loved ones and find closure through our funeral services at Poling-St. Clair.”
Stephen A. Straight-Retired
Licensed Funeral Director
In 1968, Steve graduated from Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe, Ohio and in 1972, he graduated from WVWC. On May 29, 1976, he married Denise St. Clair. Together they have one son, Douglas Straight and wife Tisha and one daughter, Risë Straight Hanifan and husband Shawn. They also have two grandchildren, Brooklyn Straight and Callan Hanifan. In 1992, Steve entered the funeral industry after spending years as a School Teacher and Coal Miner. He served under the tutelage of his father-in-law, M. Conard St. Clair and brother-in-law, Jeffrey C. St. Clair. Steve became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1995 and has enjoyed serving families in Upshur County. Steve retired on July 31, 2017.
Martha Edgell
Receptionist
Martha has been a lifelong resident of Upshur County and began working at the funeral home in 1991 as a hairdresser. Prior to working at the funeral home she was a hairdresser for many years at Guys and Dolls. Today, Martha is a receptionist and the hairdresser and helps to welcome families and their friends during evening visitations.
Kathy St. Clair
Receptionist
Kathy was born and raised in Buckhannon. She is married to Jeff St. Clair and together they have two daughters, Sarah St. Clair and Kimberly Cabrera. Their son-in-law, Codi Cabrera also works for Poling-St. Clair. Her greatest joys are her three grandchildren, Tucker, Holden and Aurora Cabrera. Kathy graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in 1972 and from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1975 with a degree in elementary education. She worked in Upshur County as an elementary teacher for several years while completing some graduate work at WVU. Kathy began working at the funeral home in 2010. She works evenings, greeting visitors and taking care of the needs of our families. She feels grateful to have the opportunity to be there for them in their time of need.
Bill Groggs
Funeral Assistant, Certified Crematory Operator
Bill has worked for us for over 10 years part time. He is a full time bus operator for Upshur County Schools. Bill and his wife Debbie have two daughters, Erica Taylor and Heather Hudson.

Vaden Queen-Retired
Physical Plant Manager, Certified Crematory Operator
Vaden is a lifelong resident of the Upshur County area. He is a 1973 graduate of BUHS. After high school he served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his time in the Marines, he worked several years in the construction industry in the Upshur County area. Vaden joined the staff of Poling-St. Clair in August 1990 where he is currently a Funeral Assistant and licensed Pre-Arrangement Consultant. Vaden is married and has three children, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. On July 31, 2021, Vaden retired after 31 years of loyal service.
