Obituary of David Wayne Wolfe

David Wayne Wolfe, 64, of Buckhannon, WV passed away on December 20, 2022.  He was born February 9, 1958, in Clarksburg, WV, the oldest son of the late Jack and Deloris Morrison Wolfe of West Milford, WV. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Wolfe. David is survived by his wife, DeAnna Miller Wolfe; two daughters:  Rachel Wolfe (and her fiancé Will Stetar) of Manheim, PA; and Rebecca Wolfe Miller and her husband, Maj. Daniel Miller, PhD, USSF of Colorado Springs, Co and two beloved grandsons:  Matthew and Andrew Miller. Two brothers:  Daniel (and Regina) Wolfe of Shinnston, WV and Donald Wolfe. His aunt:  Rosalee Morrison Pituch of York, PA, and one uncle:  William Bowyer of Good Hope, WV; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His mother-in-law Lemoyne Wentz, father-in-law Cecil Miller, and sister-in-law Kerry Miller, all of Buckhannon, WV. David graduated from South Harrison High School in 1976, where he was very active in sports:  football, basketball, and track.  He was a member of FFA.  He learned his carpentry and farming skills from his two grandfathers. He worked on gas well drilling rigs for a decade, before relocating with his family to Virginia.  There he had careers as a carpenter and as a farm manager. Two years ago, he returned to West Virginia. He loved being outdoors, hiking, farming, hunting, and fishing.  He loved all animals, large and small. David was a quiet, “gentle giant” who loved his family most of all. Services will be private, with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or make a donation to your local SPCA/Humane Society in his name.
