When the Fallon’s moved into the house next to us we had no idea how very blessed we had become.
Memories……
Mr. Fallon shoveling a path in the snow from our house to their house so Sheila and I had a quick way to get to each others house, especially for when Mr. Fallon was taking us to school everyday.
Making snow ice cream! Yum! Making homemade ice cream with the ice cream maker, turning that handles over and over.
When they would go camping at Findley State Park, inviting us there for dinner and then making those “hot pockets” over the campfire.
Mr. Fallon taking my Father on one of those fishing trips up in Canada.
Mr. Fallon’s famous garden! I think that almost all of the neighbors on Oakdale ate something from his garden. From that garden I was introduced to string beans, “stringing a bean?” what the heck? It certainly did turn into a night of fun and good conversation.
If an item was needed, we did not run to the store to get it, we went over to the Fallon’s to “borrow” it.
That was when neighbors were truly neighbors and we had the best!
Mr. Fallon you may be gone from this realm but you will never be forgotten.
Thanks for the memories.. You were certainly loved

Mr. Fallon had a huge impact on my life as well as my sister’s life! He was principal of So. Amherst when Marilyn, my twin sister, and I were hired! We all became dear friends during those years! We were like a family spending time together at school and outside of school. He set up an elementary basketball program and asked me to set up the cheerleading program! He was a great support and friend to Marilyn and I even though he was our boss! We had many after school ping pong matches and bowling matches. My husband Mike and I would go to Catawba Camping with him and Joanne and the Dickinson’s. There would be fishing and perch to eat at the camp! That was the best fish I ever ate! I have a tear in my eye thinking of the memories with Mr. Fallon. Yes, he was always known to me as Mr. Fallon!!!! He impacted my life and because of him my years at South Amherst Elementary were some of the best years of my life!! Marilee Groot Lelak

Mr. Fallon was our next door neighbor in South Amherst. He was serving as the Superintendent at the time and my Dad was the elementary principal at South Amherst. He was always very nice and would give me snack and would let me what ever little project he was working on. He would let me help mow his yard with his ridding lawn mower. The good old days on Oakdale Drive. Rest In Peace Mr. Fallon.
