Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William J. “Wild Bill” Halterman, 70, of Buckhannon, bought the farm July 17, 2020, at the VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was one of eight brothers and sisters born to Clifford L. Halterman and Clara Endrizzi. A graduate of St. Patrick’s, Weston, and Glenville State College, he served in the US Navy on the destroyer tender USS Shenandoah. Bill was an avid trout fisherman and lover of music: a bassist, guitarist, harmonica player, and vocalist. He played in such regional musical acts as The Cadillacs, Cadillac Grass, Sedgewick Tucker Band, John Merrill’s One Hour Sleep, and The Mulberry Grass. He retired after thirty years as a rural letter carrier for the US Postal Service. Wild Bill is survived by his wife Susan; his son David; his son Stephen, daughter-in-law Bobbi, and grandson Eli; his son John; his dog Bubbles; and countless lifelong friends, including Paul Avington of Weston, his friend of over sixty years. Services at a later date. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
