Obituary of James David Campbell

James David “Dave, Soupy” Campbell James David “Dave, Soupy” Campbell, age 50, of French Creek, WV, died Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born July 28, 1969, in Buckhannon, WV, a son of William Clyde Campbell who survives of French Creek and the late Lora Belle Smallridge Campbell. On July 1, 1994, he married Nichole Berry who survives of French Creek. In addition to his father and wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ariel Campbell and fiancé Thomas Barbo of French Creek; one son, Tyler James Campbell and wife Dakota of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Mason Leigh Cutright and Clayton Matthew Campbell both of Buckhannon and Erik Thomas and Wyatt James Barbo both of French Creek; three brothers, Bill Campbell and wife Sandy, Bob Campbell and wife Cathy and Mike Campbell all of French Creek; one sister, Ruth Tolliver and husband Roger of Rock Cave, WV; several nieces and nephews and one aunt, Mae Pratt of Buckhannon. Mr. Campbell was a Maintenance Manager for Country Roads Transport. Dave was a Christian by faith. Dave was such an amazing and wonderful husband, father, son and grandfather. He was his happiest when he was with his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandsons; they were his world. He was one of the most hardworking and loving people around. Everything he did was to help someone, in some way. He touched the hearts and lives of every single person who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed by his friends and loved ones; and he will forever be in our hearts. Friends will be received for a memorial gathering on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 12 Noon to 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor David Jesse officiating. In honoring Dave’s wishes he will be cremated.
