Just Dec 26 learned of Chess Mearns' death. Chess was a good friend thru HS, a great teammate in both football and baseball, playing guard in football and center field in baseball.
He was a very high-quality, likable, dependable guy, even in High School. He was also quite intelligent and a tough competitor on the field. I feel fortunate and am very happy to have had him as a good friend!
