Obituary of Gladys Squires

Gladys Squires, age 94, of Buckhannon, WV, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Mansfield Place in Philippi, WV. She was born July 26, 1923, in Sutton, WV, a daughter of the late Oral B. and Sadie Nutt Lake. On January 4, 1940, she married Van Robert Squires who preceded her in death on November 19, 1990. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and David Squires and fourteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Reed and husband Jerry of Tallmansville, WV and Nancy Eddy of Enola, PA; two sons, Ronald Squires and Randy Squires and wife Sherry all of Buckhannon; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; five great-great-grandchildren and two on the way; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Squires of Buckhannon; a sister-in-law, Betty Lake of TN and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Squires was a homemaker and attended Christian Fellowship Church. She was an avid collector of pig memorabilia. Friends will be received Wednesday, July 11, 2018, from 5 to 6 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held 6 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. In honoring Mrs. Squires wishes she will be cremated.  In lieu of flowers the contributions may be made to the Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery Fund.
