Obituary of Charles W. Douglass

DouglassCharles Charles W. “Bill” Douglass Charles W. “Bill” Douglass, age 83, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Heartland of Clarksburg, WV. He was born Oct. 7, 1925 in Weston, WV a son of the late Guy and Mary Elizabeth Cunningham Douglass. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Koon and one brother, Guy J. Douglass. He is survived by his partner, Norma S. Darnall and her two sons, Dale G. Darnall of Buckhannon and Russell W. Darnall of Simpsonville, SC; also surviving are four nephews, Paul Douglas Koon of Huntsville, AL, Craig Koon of Bishop, CA, Daniel Douglass of Bradenton, FL and Timothy Douglass of Maryland. Bill served two tours of service with the US Army. He worked for the WV Dept. Of Highways and retired from the WV State Hospital. He was a member of the Elks Club. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. Billie Scott Mick officiating. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
