DaftFrench French Alvin Daft French Alvin Daft, age 87, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, July 2, 2007 at Heath South in Morgantown, WV. He was born October 12, 1919 in Pickens, WV, a son of the late Parley and Bessie Cutright Daft. On November 22, 1943 he married Ruby Lee Slaughter who survives. Also surviving are one son, Terry Daft and wife Elsie of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Chadwick Daft of Ohio, Bradly Daft of Buckhannon, Garrick Daft of Columbus, OH and Brandon Daft of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Celine Daft and Emmie Cutright both of Buckhannon; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Oliver Daft of Baltimore, MD and one sister, Lena Bell Gillian of Virginia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Gary Daft; two grandsons, Darr and Ronald Daft; six brothers, Troy, Everett, Earn, Calvin, Ellis and Ord Daft and two sisters, Mary Wolford and Ella May Pumphrey. Mr. Daft was a Coal Miner and United Brethern by Faith. Friends will be received Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV.
