Daisy Cochran Daisy R. Cochran Daisy’s journey to spend eternity with God ended October 19, 2014. Daisy was born April 1, 1925 in Newkirk, OK, one of fourteen children consisting of five brothers and eight sisters, to Daisy Myrtle Peters Foreman and Isaac Newton Foreman. Daisy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. After graduating high school she moved to Washington, DC where she was employed by the United States Treasury. There she met her husband to be Gerald (Jerry) F. Cochran and on October 28, 1944 they were married and remained together for 69 plus years. After leaving DC they returned to Buckhannon to live out most of their days together. Gerald passed away August 10, 2014 after many extended illnesses. Daisy and Gerald had three children. Carol Ann McPherson, Jerry Alan Cochran and wife Rita and James Gay Cochran all of Buckhannon; five grandchildren, David Bucklin and wife Kathy of Crossville, TN, Kevin Bucklin and wife Peggy and Jerry Cochran, Jr. all of Buckhannon, Darian Cochran and wife Amy of Charlottesville, VA and Niska Wentz of Buckhannon; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Daisy and Gerald spent most of their life in the automobile business the most notable being Cochran Motors in Buckhannon where they sold and serviced American Motors and Jeep products. They retired in 1986 and spent most of the rest of their lives in New Port Richey, FL. Daisy was a member of the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church for more than 65 years and played the piano and taught Sunday School for most of those years. Daisy enjoyed life. In her spare time she enjoyed crochet, needle point, working crossword puzzles, playing piano, bowling, and golf and loving her dogs Sara and Boomer. Family and friends will be received at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church on Red Knob Road on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5-8 PM. Services will also be held 11 AM on Friday at the church with the Revs. Bob Anderson and Don Nelson officiating. From there she will rest in peace in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church c/o Sharon Shaw, 55 Pine Lane, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
