Obituary of Gerald Cochran

Gerald F. "Jerry" Cochran Gerald F. “Jerry” Cochran Gerald F. “Jerry” Cochran, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born May 31, 1923 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Gay W. and Emma Riggs Cochran. On October 28, 1944 he married Daisy Ruth Foreman who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Alan Cochran and wife Rita and James Gay Cochran all of Buckhannon; one daughter, Carol McPherson of Buckhannon; four grandsons, David Bucklin and wife Cathy of Crossville, TN, Kevin Bucklin and wife Peggy and Jerry Cochran, Jr. all of Buckhannon and Darian Cochran and wife Amy of Charlottesville, VA; one granddaughter, Niska Wentz of Buckhannon; nine great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren and extended family, Sam Choe and family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. Mr. Cochran was the owner of Cochran Motors and a member of the Mt. Hope UMC. Gerald loved to play golf, checkers, poker, pitch softball and was an avid WVU fan. Friends will be received Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Nelson and Pastor Bob Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
