Obituary of Lenna Loretta Canter

Lenna Loretta Canter Lenna Loretta Canter Lenna Loretta Canter, age 77, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born April 10, 1937 in Philippi, WV, a daughter of the late Cletus McCauley and Alice Velda Heatherly McCauley Thompson. On June 19, 1978 she married Roger Lee “Doc” Canter who survives. Also surviving one daughter, Elizabeth Lantz and husband Leonard of Hackers Creek, WV; three sons, Roger Lee Canter, Jr of OH, William Canter and wife Penelope of PA and Michael Anthony Canter of Peeltree, WV; a special niece, Shelia Cottrill of Wolf Summit, WV; two grandsons, Timothy Lee Canter of Huntington, WV and Frankie Canter of Peeltree; four granddaughters, Haley and Sarah Canter both of Peeltree and Kadence and Carmen Canter both of PA; one sister, Virginia Hamrick of Stonewood, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Barnhart and Nancy Pethel and a cousin, Ray Heatherly. Mrs. Canter was a homemaker and a Methodist. She liked camping, fishing and the Atlanta Braves. Friends will be received Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 11 AM until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery in Buckhannon.
