Obituary of Ray C. Chidester

Ray C. Chidester Ray Chidester Ray Chidester, age 76, of Rock Cave, WV died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. He was born March 25, 1937 in Canaan, WV, a son of the late James and Archie Peck Chidester. On July 11, 1959 he married Pearl Murphy, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Sandy Gregory and husband Steve of Kanawha Head, WV and Barbie Gregory and husband John of Eden, WV; three sons, Roger Chidester and Kris Burnside and Bill Chidester and wife Kathy all of Eden and Mike Chidester and wife Cecilia of Grand Camp, WV; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Janie Murphy of Lorain, OH; one brother, Junior Chidester and wife Tina of Austin, TX and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Chidester, Bernice Gibson and Katie Hammond and three brothers, Jim, Frank and Bill Chidester. Mr. Chidester was a logger. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11 AM at the Rock Cave Independent Baptist Church in Rock Cave with Pastor David Jessie officiating.
