Obituary of Alfred T. Arbogast

untitled3 Alfred T. Arbogast Alfred Thomas Arbogast, age 83 of Mt. Union Community died Tuesday February 28, 2012 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. He was born May 19, 1928 in Valley Head, WV a son of the late Lawrence and Carrie Susan McCloud Arbogast. On February 26, 1949 he married Vivian Zirkle who survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Mary Lucile Koon of Buckhannon, Patricia Ann Arbogast of Sandy Level, VA, Diane May Daugherty and Husband John of Mt. Union, Donna Jean Higgins and husband Terry of French Creek, WV and Linda Lee Watson of Washington, NC; two sons, Rick Arbogast and wife Rose of Mt. Union, and Alfred William “Bill” Arbogast and wife Lisa of Mt. Union; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; four sisters, Virgie Wilfong of Valley Head, Bertha Hewitt and Janet Gregory both of Buckhannon and Mata Ash of MO; three brothers, Lloyd Arbogast of Buckhannon, Ralph Arbogast of OH, and Don Arbogast of KS. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Mr. Arbogast was a coal miner; he worked in the woods and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Friends will be received Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral Service will be held 2 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com .
