untitled3 James Bennett Corathers James Bennett Corathers, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Holbrook Nursing Home of Buckhannon. He was born May 6, 1923 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late O. A. and Tressie Bennett Corathers. On August 16, 1943 he married Wanda Gwen Harper who preceded him in death on September 14, 2012. Also preceding him in death was a brother, George Corathers and a sister, Doris Beaver. He is survived by one son, Mac Corathers and wife Loretta of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Jill Kelley and husband Greg of Buckhannon; two great grandsons, Dakota McCartney and Logan Kelley both of Buckhannon; and three sisters, Marie Withers and husband Bill of Winchester, VA, Leverne Tenney of Marietta, OH and Carolyn Sue Wilfong and husband Burton of Buckhannon. Mr. Corathers served in the US Army during WW II. He was a salesman for Mountaineer Foods and A.F. Wendling, was a member of Franklin Lodge #7 AF & AM and was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 12-2 PM. Graveside services for James and his wife Wanda Gwen will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Heavner Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Shreve officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
