Earl Kermit “Buck” Casto
Earl Kermit “Buck” Casto, age 70, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, February 15, 2010 at his home. He was born March 21, 1939 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Danna Edward Hamner, Sr. and Lona Mae Bennett Casto Hamner. On March 18, 1995 he married Betty Jeffries who survives. Also surviving is one son, Les R. Casto and wife Sandra of Fairview, WV; one daughter, Ruth Williams and husband Roger of Buckhannon; one step daughter, Traci Moul of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; one step son, Shaun Jeffries of Buckhannon; one grandson, Darrel Morris of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Jessica Morris of Buckhannon and Mary Hamner Casto of Fairview; six step granddaughters, Ashley Dunlavy, Devonna and Alicia Moul all of Little Egg Harbor, Christine Sleeth of Morgantown and Cassandra and Theresa Sleeth both of Fairview; one step grandson, Danny Dunlavy of Buckhannon; two step great-grandsons, Matthew Cristner of Fairview and Tristen O’Connor of Little Egg Harbor; one step great granddaughter, Kaylee O’Connor of Little Egg Harbor; one brother, Dana “Frog” Hamner, Jr. of Tallmansville, WV; three sisters, Lora Mae “Lou” Underwood Oklahoma City, OK, Pearl Mortenson of Bethney Beach, DE and Jane Jenks White of Inglewood, OH; ex wife, Edith Marie Casto of Buckhannon and sister in law, Shirley Hamner of Buckhannon. In addition his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Denley Casto; one grandson, Todd Morris; one brother, Ralph Bennett Casto and one sister, Lillian Humphrey. Mr. Casto was a coal miner. He was a member of the Sago Baptist Church and attended the Tallmansville Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the UMWA Local # 1938. Friends will be received Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. In lieu of flowers please send donations to People's Hospice at PO Box 1680 Clarksburg, WV 26302. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
