Obituary of Theodore Blend

Theodore "Ted" Blend Theodore “Ted” Blend Theodore “Ted” Blend, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, October 4, 2015 at his home. He was born May 25, 1930 in Tuscarora Township, NY, a son of the late Theodore and Ella Faulkner Blend. On August 25, 1951 he married Margaret Eleanor Bailey who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Blend and wife Teresa of Buckhannon and Tom Blend and wife Robin of Winchester, VA; two daughters, Diane Hill and husband Greg of Buckhannon and Debra McCoy of Athens, OH; four grandsons, Jason Hill of Buckhannon, Brian Blend and wife Lucy of Fairmont, WV, Eric Blend and fiancée Brianna of Wheeling, WV and Jared Blend and wife Amanda of Winchester; five granddaughters, Cara Richardson and husband Tim of Arlington, VA, Allison Hill of Fairmont, WV, Kelly Blend of Anderson, SC, Megan Springer and husband Nick of Guysville, OH and Leah Blend of Buckhannon; two great-granddaughters, Shelby Hill of Buckhannon and Annica Richardson of Arlington; one great-grandson, Jacob Springer of Guysville; two brothers, Martin Blend of Landing, NJ and Collis Blend and wife Cindy of Elkland, PA and four sisters, Ella Kipferi of Pine City, NY, Wanda Jankowski of Addison, NY, Wilma Wisler of Tioga, PA and Florence Edwards of Elkland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wellington and Samuel Blend and four sisters, Edna Tunison, Vera Knowles, Dorothy Doland and Elma Hornbrook. “Ted” Served in the US Air Force in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He retired after 44 years from Moore Business Forms. The family would like to send a special thanks to Ellen Smith, Vicki Scott, Pat Brown, Linda Cowger, the staff of WV Hospice and the special caregivers from the Area Agency on Aging. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 2-4 PM with the a memorial service at 4 PM with the Rev. Helen Oates officiating.
