BeerWanna Wanna Mae Beer Wanna Mae Beer, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Mansfield Place in Philippi, WV. She was born June 29, 1926 in Flat Rock, WV, a daughter of the late Richard B. and Stacy Jane Simmons Thompson. On July 6, 1942 she married Carl Lewis Hornbeck who preceded her in death on May 9, 1957. On June 29, 1959 she married James Lyndon Beer who preceded her in death on July 24, 1970. In addition to her parents and 1st and 2nd husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Hornbeck; one brother, Guy Thompson and two sisters, Madeline Marks and Laura Jean Craven. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Lynn Lane and husband Derry B. of Buckhannon; two sons, Terry Edward Hornbeck and wife Sandra Kay of Shinnston, WV and David L. Beer and wife Stephanie of Buckhannon; four grandsons, Todd Lane and wife Stephanie, Randy Lane and wife Heather and Nathaniel Beer all of Buckhannon and Darick Skidmore and wife Sabrina of Lost Creek, WV; two granddaughters, Tara Cosco of Glenville, WV and Janine Beer of Buckhannon; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and a special friend, Suzanne Stefan of Philippi. Mrs. Beer was a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church of Buckhannon. She was a long time member of the Tallmansville CEO’s, a former member of the Upshur County Assoc. of Retired School Employees and a Tutorial Reading Aide. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Tenney and with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery in Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
