Obituary of Clayton Baughman

BaughmanClayton Clayton Junior Baughman Clayton Junior Baughman, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV passed on to his eternal home Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center in Clarksburg, WV. He was born August 13, 1929 in Bergoo, WV, a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Nellie Elizabeth Hamrick Baughman. InApril 17, 1949 he married Madaline Westfall who preceded him in death on November 20, 1986. In February 16, 1991 he married Mabel Robison who preceded him in death on December 1, 2008. In addition to his parents and wives he was preceded in death by five brothers, David, Hayes, Clifford, Clinton and Wilbert Baughman and one sister, Katherine Baughman. Surviving are one son, Aaron McLain and wife Alana of Buckhannon; one daughter, Donna McBee of Houston, TX; two grandsons, Reggie McLain of Hodgesville, WV and Terry McBee of TX; one granddaughter, Karisten Kajuffa and husband Bryan of Philadelphia, PA; five great grandsons, Logan, Coalton and Aiden McLain, Clayton and Bryan; four great granddaughters, Aryanna, Autumn, Alexis and Avery and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Baughman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a Combat Engineer and retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years. Clayton was a member of the Church of God in Buckhannon, the VFW #3663. He was a Lieutenant Colonel for the Civil Air Patrol where he was a member for 26 years. He owned and operated an electronic repair shop and was a manager at Stripe Discount. Clayton was a kind and generous man who always looked for the good in people. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received Monday, January 26, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
