Richard Eugene Boring
Richard Eugene Boring, 71, of Buckhannon and formerly Morgantown and Masontown, WV passed away August 13, 2014 peacefully at his home in Buckhannon. Richard was born October 29, 1942 in Kingwood, WV to the late Louis Ray Boring and the late Glenna W. Metheny Boring. Richard was a retired coal miner with thirty years employment at Consol Coal Company’s Humphery No. 7 Mine in Mount Morris, PA. He was a Methodist by faith and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Richard was a 1962 graduate of Valley High School in Masontown, WV. He was a member of the Football Team and member of the Future Farmers of America Club at Valley High School. He was a member of UMWA District 31 Local 1058. He was also a member of the Valley High School Alumni Association. Richard enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren attending their sporting events and activities. Richard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Helen (Sue) Anderson Boring; son Kevin Boring and his wife Elizabeth (Lisa) Calef-Boring of Buckhannon; and grandchildren Nicklaus (Nick) Calef-Boring and Zachary Calef-Boring also of Buckhannon. Also surviving are two brothers - Ray Junior Boring and Roger Boring both of Masontown, WV; three sisters- Carolyn Greathouse of Morgantown and Judy Radabaugh and Kathy Garrett both of Masontown, WV. Richard is also survived by one special nephew and hunting partner, Robert W. Boring of Maidsville, WV. Richard was preceded in death by a baby sister, Deloris. Friends and Family will be received at Poling St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 3-5 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steven Meadows and Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Masontown, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
