Obituary of Allen C. Burr

BurrAllen Allen C. Burr Allen C. Burr, age 79, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his home while under the care of WV Home Care. He was born June 28, 1935 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Charles and Mary Haymond Burr On November 17, 1956 he married Shirley Burr who preceded him in death on September 12, 2004. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Martin and Charles Burr, Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane and Sharron Burr both of Buckhannon; one son, John Burr and wife Kristi of Buckhannon; six granddaughters, Tara, Heather, Haley, Kayla and Ashley Burr and fiancée David Tenney all of Buckhannon and Amanda Hunt of French Creek, WV; two grandsons, G.W. Moran and John Allen Burr both of Buckhannon; three great granddaughters, Ariah and Jaiden Brown and Presley Tenney all of Buckhannon; four great grandsons, Bryce and Gabriel Moran, Collin Rice and Ryder Tenney all of Buckhannon; one brother, James Burr of French Creek; three sisters, Mickey Tarley and husband John of PA, Martha Landis and Joann Samples and husband Jim both of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Bella. Allen worked for Breckenridge Construction. A Special thanks to Martha Landis, James Burr and Kathy Cox and WV Home Care, friends at the Donut Shop and his neighbors April and Jody. Friends will be received Monday, July 21, 2014 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Church Cemetery at French Creek, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
