Obituary of Lavaughn Sipe Yoakum

Lavaughn Sipe Yoakum Lavaughn Sipe Yoakum Lavaughn Sipe Yoakum, age 85, of Buckhannon, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown WV. She was born October 30, 1928 in Hall, WV, the daughter of the late Oscar and Myrtle Paugh Sipe. On July 24, 1948 she married Edwin S. “Dee” Yoakum who preceded her in death April 6, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Marie Barnes on November 2, 1992; three brothers; Robert, Raphle, and Simon Sipe and one sister Abbie Fallen. Mrs. Yoakum is survived by a grandson, Keenan P. Barnes and wife Diane of Henrico, VA; one great-grandson Cadell P. Barnes of Henrico; two great-granddaughters, Cassidy Marie and Courtney Lavaughn Barnes both of Henrico; one sister Betty Caynor of Buckhannon, WV; one son-in-law John Barnes of Buckhannon and many beloved nieces, nephews and close family friends. Mrs. Yoakum retired from Reidboard Brothers after 50 years of service. She was a homemaker and a longtime faithful member of the Mount Herman Methodist Church. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5p.m. to 8p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon. A funeral services will be held 10a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
