Jane E. Williams
Jane E. Williams of Buckhannon, WV died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born July 20, 1919 in Wilmington, DE, a daughter of the late Francis W. and E. Verna Giles Krastel. On October 4, 1941 she married Frank E. Williams, Jr. who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jane W. and husband Samuel B. Urso, Jr. and Pamela W. Ross and husband Michael; one son, Frank E. Williams, III and wife Amy C.; nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Father Francis W. Krastel, Jr. Mrs. Williams attended Seton Hill College and was a homemaker. She was a founding member and past president of St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary of Buckhannon where she served for 42 years. In 1989 she was the Athena Volunteer of the Year. Additionally she was a 57 year sister Chapter A, PEO Sisterhood, a founding member and president of the Buckhannon Arts Alliance, founding member of the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the Fred Brook’s Garden Club. Mrs. Williams served as a Literacy Volunteer and reader to children in the public school system and read books creating audio tapes for the blind. Friends will be received Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5:00-7:30 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Ron Nikodem, S.M. as celebrant. Interment of the ashes will be at a later date at St. Francis Xavier Church in Warwick, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Old Bohemia Historical Society, PO Box 61, Warwick, MD 21912. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
