Union Church Cemetery Donovan Clinton Phillips Donovan Clinton Phillips, age 70 of Walkersville, MD died unexpectedly on Friday, January 8, 2010. He was born August 9, 1939 in Buckhannon, WV, a son of the late Clinton and Madaline Smith Phillips. On March 12, 1989 he married Connie J. Houser-Gay who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald Reeder-Phillips of Wooster, OH, Donald Wayne Phillips and wife Amber, Todd Phillips and companion Dee Dee and Jonovan Phillips and wife Angi all of Wooster; three step daughters, Kellie Leadore and husband Ronald of Woodsboro, MD, Melisa Jones and Angela Bartos and husband Joe all of Walkersville; grandchildren, Brian Phillips of Buckhannon, Cierra and Gavin Phillips, Jessica and Curtis Reeder all of Wooster, Ashton and Alexandra Damelio and Kyle Reece all of Frederick, MD, Noah, Rylie and Andrew Leadore all of Woodsboro and Carlie Bartos of Walkersville; great-grandson, Cameron Reeder of Wooster; two brothers, Autry Phillips and wife Grace and Rodney Phillips all of Buckhannon and two sisters, Carolyn Grove and husband Weldon and Brenda Shannon all of Buckhannon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by twin infant daughters, Janet and Janice Phillips and a step son, Ronnie “Spanky” Gay. Mr. Phillips retired from Moore Business Forms with 30 years of service, also retired from American General Life Insurance Company in Clarksburg, WV and Hagerstown, MD. He was currently employed by Maryland Judiciary Court in Rockville, MD as a District Court Clerk II. He was a member of the Redeeming River Church in Woodbine, MD where he served as overseer of Men’s Ministry and Men’s Sunday School. He was a licensed minister and has served the Lord in many different areas including a Mission Trip to Haiti. He was a devout Christian for 30 years. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Friends will be received Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV.
