Obituary of Maxine Wood

Maxine Wood Maxine Edna Wood Maxine Edna Wood, age 88, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born February 15, 1926 in Murphy’s Station, WV, a daughter of the late Ernest L. Murphy and Edna B. Harris Murphy House. On November 15, 1954 she married Kenneth O. Wood, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert L., Junior L. and Wilbur T. Murphy. She is survived by one brother, Kermit House and wife Jackie of Warrenton, GA; one sister, Margaret Scherer and husband Donald of Akron, OH and very special friends, William “Jack” McClain and wife Brenda of Newton Falls, OH and Sharron “Sherry” Miller and husband Cecil of Buckhannon. Mrs. Wood was a House Parent for Boys Village. Friends will be received Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 12–2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Mausoleum.
