Obituary of Alice D. Williams

Alice Williams Alice D. Williams Alice D. Williams, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. She was born May 5, 1922 in DuBois, PA, a daughter of the late Merle B. and Isabelle Bleakney Dunlap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Rush. She is survived by two daughters, Amy Tenney and husband Edward of Buckhannon and Jean Anne LaRosa of Fort Myers, FL; one son, John M. Williams and wife Patty of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Stephanie Finn and husband Travis of Edenboro, PA and Morgan Jane LaRosa of Fort Myers; two grandsons, Phillip J. Williams and wife Kelly of Honolulu, HI and David John LaRosa of Fort Myers; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Finn of Edenboro and one great-grandson, Levi Finn of Edenboro. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Buckhannon. A charter member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Aux., the Buckhannon Women’s Club. She ran the YWCA Budget Shop for 30 years and received the Athenian Award for her volunteerism. Friends will be received Friday, January 31, 2014 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Bohman officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Hospital Aux.
