She was born November 24, 1946 in Gilmer Co., WV a daughter of Dallas James Burrows and Ella Mae Blosser Burrows Johnston. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William O. “Buck” Wilmoth, two brothers, Howard and Junior Burrows, three sisters, Dorothy Hicks, Mary Ables and Ellen Burrows. She is survived by her second husband, John Fredrick Ables, Sr.; three sons, James Wilmoth and wife Michelle of Buckhannon, William Wilmoth and wife Samintha of Buckhannon and Jason Wilmoth of Buckhannon; two daughters, Lucy Small and husband James of Kesling Mill, WV and Rebecca Wiant and husband Charles of Buckhannon; twenty two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orval Eugene Burrows of Elkins, WV and Harold Burrows of Lewis County, WV; and one sister, Ila Mae Carper of Ashtabula, OH. Scottie was a homemaker and a Christian by faith. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Home Wednesday, July 22, 2009 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Jay Burkhart and Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hodgesville, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
