Elouise Sue St.Clair Baxa
Sue joined the Lord after a brief illness on October 26, 2013. Sue was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on June 8, 1939, a daughter of the late Francis and Fanny Venita Warner St. Clair. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Willard “Jack” Baxa Jr. of Pittsford, NY. Also Surviving are four daughters, Jacqueline Rowlands and husband Don and Sandra Altamura and husband Mike all of Henrietta, NY, Sharon Alvarez and companion Dale Patterson of Dacula, GA and Sally Siegl and husband John Levonia, NY; one son, Willard “Bill” Baxa III and wife Josephine of Buckhannon; seven grandsons, Bryan Rowlands and wife Shannon, Richard Rowlands and wife Julie, Brandon Maul and Todd Altamura all of Henrietta, Nicholas Siegl and wife Maria Bloomfield, NY, Jerry Patterson of Dacula and Willard “Will” Baxa IV of Buckhannon; nine granddaughters, Jennifer Maul of Greece, NY, Shivaun Siegl of Levonia, Stephanie Patterson of Winder, GA, Leslie Alvarez of Dacula, Jessica Davis and husband George of Buckhannon, Chelsie Altamura and Kaylee Maul and companion Brian Meisch all of Henrietta, Katherine Marquez and husband Marco of Fayetteville, NC, Sarrah Alvarez and companion Chase Presley of Lawrenceville, GA; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister Venita Joan St. Clair of Cumming, GA; one uncle, Conard St. Clair of Buckhannon; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Anthony and husband Gene, Artis Sprout and husband Warren and Linda Smuder; a brother-in-law Allen Baxa and wife Terri and several nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Frances Pilger. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and West Virginia University. Sue began her teaching career in West Virginia before moving to New York. In New York, she attended Geneseo State College and taught in the Rush Henrietta School District for 35 years. She was also involved with the Henrietta Auxiliary Police for 20 years. Sue was a loving wife and mother and an inspiration to all who knew her. Friends will be received Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
