Nebo UM Church Cemetery Mary F. Williams Mary F. Williams, age 76, of Elkhart, IN died Friday, August 8, 2008 at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart. She was born April 2, 1932 in Clendin, WV, a daughter of the late Rev. Leslie and Ethel Short Chipps. On September 17, 1948 she married Edward Ray Williams who preceded her in death on November 17, 1998. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Larry R. and David G. Williams and four brothers, James, William, Harold and Junior Chipps. She is survived by two daughters, Rose Watson and husband Thomas of Elkhart and Barbara Homewood and husband Robert of Elkhart; three sons, Allen Williams and wife Charlene of Elkhart, Jerry Williams of Elkhart and Rev. Michael Williams and wife Sherry of Princeton, WV; three sisters, Thelma Sothen of Newark, OH, Louise Nottingham of Buckhannon, WV and Betty Anglin of Buckhannon; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. Mary was the former owner and operator of restaurants in Oklahoma for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Nebo Church in Buckhannon. Mary loved to travel, but her passion was Gospel Music. Mary traveled to participate and attend shows throughout the country. Friends will be received Friday, August 15, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Nebo Church Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
