WamsleyMargaret Margaret I. (Moss) Wamsley Margaret I. Wamsley, of Route 2, Buckhannon, WV, died Thursday 19 April 2007, at Memorial Hospital—Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV. She was born 11 March 1920, at Sand Run, Upshur County, WV, the daughter of the late John W. Moss and Eda S. Lantz Moss. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59-years, Winston Wendell Wamsley: Additionally, she was preceded in death by a son, Autry Wendell Wamsley; grandson, Kurt Wendell Fumerola; and three brothers: Victor Moss, C. Ishmael Moss, and L. Lairl Moss. With a great dedication to civic duty and strong devotion to ecclesiastical service, Mrs. Wamsley demonstrated a long and altruistic record. At 73-years, she was the longest member of Nay’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Ellamore Charge, where she held various offices and positions. She served as representative to district (Wesleyan) and Annual Conferences (WV) of the (United) Methodist Church. In Nay’s Chapel, she served as vacation Bible school director, Sunday school teacher, and Sunday School Convention officer. She was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Class of 1938. In civic life, she was a founding member of the local Chapter of the Crippled Childrens’ Association (now renamed); member of the Upshur County Republican Executive Committee; Strawberry Festival Planning Committee (during the 1950’s); participant in Women’s Christian Temperance Union activities; member of the Upshur County Election Poll Board; and employee of the Nutrition Service for Upshur County Board of Education. She had fond conviction for the goals, mission, and teachings of 4-H and Boy Scouts of America. She served as both 4-H Leader and Upshur County Camp Advisor and was 4-H Charter and All-Star Member. She further served as a Boy Scout Den Mother. Mrs. Wamsley is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Sandra W. and husband Raymond C. Kesling, of Buckhannon, WV; Mrs. Karen L. and husband JR Fumerola, of Farmdale, Ohio; and Mrs. C. Mateal and husband Matthew G. Poling, of Buckhannon, WV. She is survived also by son, Mr. Eric W. Wamsley, of Buckhannon, WV, and sister, Susan J. Osborn, of Elkins, WV. She is survived by one grandson, Kevin Q. Fumerola, of Farmdale; four granddaughters: Mikaela Irrissia, Mikenze W., and Mikinna S. Poling, all of Buckhannon. Alaina Keeney resides in Cortland, OH. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Taylor, Nathaniel, Liam, Cecilia Keeney all of Cortland Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Friday, 20 April 2007, at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Buckhannon. The funeral will be held 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Alan Neal pastor of Troy United Methodist Charge, WV. Burial will follow at Mt. Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Union, Upshur County, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
