Shermanwilfong Visiting Hours Sunday, October 22, 2006 2-4 & 6-8 PM Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Funeral Services Monday, October 23, 2006 10AM Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Burial Sherman Junior Wilfong Sherman Junior Wilfong, age 69, of Tallmansville, WV died Thursday, October 19, 2006 at his home. He was born June 22, 1937 in Upshur County, WV, a son of the late Sherman and Kate Strader Wilfong. On July 21, 1984 he married Inez J. Riggs McCourt who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sandra Small of Buckhannon, WV; two step sons, Joseph McCourt of Tallmansville and Samuel McCourt of Buckhannon; two step daughters, Debra Orsburn and Patricia Wamsley, both of Tallmansville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one infant child. Mr. Wilfong was a mechanic for Basin Survey and a Methodist by faith. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, VFW Post # 3663 of Buckhannon, B.P.O.E. Lodge # 1736 and the Upshur County Farm Bureau. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 AM, Monday at the funeral home with Karen Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Park. Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, VFW Post # 3663 and DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside.
