He was born June 10, 1941 in Clay Co. WV a son of the late George Dennis and Velma Truman Vaughan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Irene Vaughan Kuyper and one brother, Allen F. Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan is survived by one daughter, Dawnna Gregory and husband Daniel of Buckhannon; two sons, Dennis Vaughan and fiancée Rebecca Shutt of Pheonix, AZ and Douglas Vaughan and wife Melissa of Philippi, WV; grandchildren, Genevieve, Courtney, Shelby, Nikita and Samantha; step granddaughter, Amber; one sister, Wanda Anderson and husband James of Nicholas Co., WV; one half-sister, Alice Moore and husband Don; two ex-wives, Nancy P. Vaughan and Glenda Sue Godbey and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vaughan was a Christian by faith and a jack of all trades. He enjoyed gunsmithing, hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman. Friends will be received Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 1-2 PM the funeral hour at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechtown Cemetery in Frenchton, WV.Buckhannon VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7, American Legion, DAV Chapters 5 and 36 will conduct military honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.poingstclair.com.
