Ruth R. Umble
Ruth R. Umble of the Tallmansville Road in Upshur County was called home, Monday, September 26, 2011, by her Heavenly Father. She will be waiting by the Golden Gates of Heaven to greet her family when they are called home. She was born January 4, 1922 in Upshur County, a daughter of the late David Jackson and Eva Forest Reynolds Humphrey. She is survived by her second husband, James C. Umble whom she married June 29, 1963; two sons, Charles (Richard) Ware and wife Sandra of Buckhannon, WV and Steven Ware of Norton, WV; five daughters, Carol A. Reed and husband Denver of Stoystown, PA, Hazel R. Ware and husband Ernie of Buckhannon, Millie R. Koon and husband Dallas of Crestview, FL, Shirley D. Linger and husband Dewey of Georgetown, WV and Suzan D. Osburn and husband John (Wayne) of Buckhannon; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren and one sister, Daisy M. Ware of Buckhannon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles L. Ware; one son, Dennis C. Ware; one grandson, Denver A. Reed, II; one great granddaughter, Jamie A. Ware and siblings, Myrtle C. West, William (Bill) P. West, Della B. West, Dolly J. Summers, Russie J. Lantz, French D. Humphrey, Roy J. Humphrey, Helen B. Humphrey and Hazel Humphrey. Ruth owned and operator her own child care company, which she retired from in the late 1990’s. Special thanks go to Central West Virginia Aging Services, Inc., WV Choice, St. Joseph’s Hospice Care and her many caregivers. Ruth always said that when she died she didn’t want flowers, so in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses or your local church or food pantry. Friends will be received Friday, September 30, 2011 from 12 Noon until 2 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Hollen officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Buckhannon.
