UngerRichard Richard Royal Unger Richard Royal Unger, age 80, of 54 Shumaker Rd. Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at his home. He was born April 5, 1926 in Berkley Springs, WV a son of the late Royal Austin and Mary Jane Mesner Unger. He is survived by two brothers, Lewis C. Unger of Houston, TX and Don S. Unger of Ruther Glen, VA; one sister Marguerite Hollen of Myrtle Beach SC; three nephews, Charles W. Unger of Ruther Glen, Don Unger, Jr. of Richmond, VA and David Unger of Santa Fe, TX; three nieces, Rebecca Bumgarner of Manakin Sabot, VA, Linda Unger of Houston, TX and Susan Brock of Katy, TX. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Hall. Mr. Unger was a member of the Buckhannon Elks Lodge # 1736, Buckhannon Moose Lodge # 598, Disabled Veterans, an aviation engineer and a veteran of WW II where he served with the 82nd airborne, special forces group (Pioneers). Graveside services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 9, 2007 at Buckhannon Memorial Park with Rev. Stephen Engle officiating. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
