Mamie Tenney Mamie Lilian Smith Tenney Mamie Lilian Smith Tenney, 92, of Buckhannon, WV, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday Morning, May 21, 2014. She was born May 26, 1921 in Hemlock, WV, a daughter of the late Sanford and Nola Nicholas Smith. In Addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ura O. Tenney; one son, Larry Michael Tenney; her sister, Rosie Smith Hoover and by her brother, Burl H. Smith. She is survived by one son, Garry Randall Tenney and his wife Alice Drew Tenney of St. Petersburg, FL; one daughter Barbara Jean (Tenney) Lipscomb and her husband Mack (deceased) of Reedsville, WV and one grandson Ryan Lipscomb of Reedsville and several nieces and nephews. She was baptized at the Mt. Olive Church in Hemlock and has been a church member for over seventy-five years. She graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School in the spring of 1940 and married her husband Ura O. Tenney in the fall of 1940. Along with raising her family and being a loving mother and wife, she worked at various jobs to include West Virginia Wesleyan College, Greens Restaurant, and Lulus Restaurant. She resided the last three years of her life at Victoria Manor in Buckhannon receiving excellent care. She will be missed! Friends will be received Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Wednesday at the Mt. Olive UMC in Hemlock with the Rev. Josie Tenney and Pastor Holly J. Hoover officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
