Genevieve Taylor Genevieve Goldie Taylor Genevieve Goldie Taylor, age 95, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home while under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice in Buckhannon. She was born January 29, 1919 in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Ira and Goldie Duncan Jones. On June 6, 1940 she married Clark H. Taylor who preceded her in death on June 22, 2002. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Burl, Charles Arnel, Keith, Paul, Robert Noel and Russell Jones and two sisters, Mary Jean Elbon and Virginia Goodwin. She is survived by two sons, Robert L. Taylor and wife Sally M. of Morgantown, WV and Charles E. “Chip” Taylor of Scranton, PA; three grandsons, Robert M. Taylor and wife Moira E. of Rockville, MD, Justin E. Taylor and wife Candi L. of Oakland, NJ and Troy L. Taylor of Morgantown; two granddaughters, Shanon D. Zakreski and husband Joseph J. and Corinne E. Thiel and husband Jason M. both of Scranton; four great-grandsons, Benjamin and Finley Taylor both of Rockville, Gavin Taylor of Oakland and Ashton Thiel of Scranton and two great-granddaughters, Amaralis Thiel of Scranton and Payton Taylor of Oakland. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She and Clark lived in Morgantown for 30 years and moved to Buckhannon in 1970. While in Morgantown, she was a member of the Spruce St. Methodist Church. She and Clark owned the West Stonecoal Farm in Horner raising Registered Angus Beef. She dedicated her life to the care and welfare of her entire family. She will be greatly missed by those she cared for so dearly. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Friends will be received Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 10-11 AM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Helen R. Oates officiating. Burial will follow in the Weston Masonic Cemetery in Weston, WV. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph’s Hospice, 1 Amalia Drive Buckhannon, WV 26201 or the “Clark & Genevieve Taylor Scholarship Fund" and sent to the WVU Foundation; 1 Waterfront Place, Morgantown, WV 26508.
