untitled3 Norma Craven Tomley Avery Norma Craven Tomley Avery, age 91, Elkins, WV died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Colonial Place in Elkins. She was born December 31, 1921 in Tallmansville, WV, a daughter of the late Cecil and Eula Fern Craven. On July 6, 1943 she married Peter Tomley who preceded her in death on October 25, 2001. On September 20, 2003 she married Roy Avery who preceded her in death on March 19, 2009. She is survived by one brother, Darius Craven and wife Jean of Tallmansville, WV; three nieces, Linda Mathias and husband David of Elkins, WV, Diane Shipman and husband Don of Lorena, TX and Barbara Kerns and husband Carroll of Buckhannon; two step daughters; one step son; two great nieces, Amy Arthur and husband Jay of Morgantown, WV and Samantha Shipman of Lorena; one great nephew, Isaac Shipman of Lorena and one great-great nephew, Ryan Arthur of Morgantown. Mrs. Tomley graduated from WVWC in 1943 and also was an Administrative Assistant for The Associated General Contractors of America. She attended Pohick Church in Alexandria, VA. She was a former member of the Mt. Vernon Yacht Club in Alexandria. The family would like to send a special thanks to Mountain Hospice and Colonial Place in Elkins, WV. A memorial services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1 PM in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tallmansville with the Rev. Billee Scott Mick officiating.
