Bobby Joe Tallman
Bobby Joe Tallman, age 80, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Nella’s Nursing Home in Crystal Springs, WV. He was born June 11, 1931 in Kedron, WV, a son of the late W. M. and Lillie Maude Hornbeck Tallman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, David Paul Tallman, six brothers, Hartzel “Bum” Tallman, Steward Tallman, Jim Tallman, Bill Tallman, Wilson “Stub” Tallman, Morris “Bud” Tallman, five sisters, Mary Tenney, Darris Swihart, Ina Shreve, Daisy Holmes, Ruth Tallman, and two sister-in-laws, Sarah Tallman and Bessie Tallman. On January 26, 1952 he married Dana Lee Tenney who survives. Also surviving are one son, Joe Lee Tallman and wife Reta of Buckhannon; one daughter, Donna Lou Tallman of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Tallman of Buckhannon; one grandson, David Paul Tallman, Jr. and his family, Amanda, Miley and Olivia of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Katie Tallman and family, Richard, Coralee and Kenzie of Buckhannon; one step grandson, Fredrick Antolini and family, Katharine, John and Cooper of Buckhannon; one step granddaughter, Christina Marra and family, Dean and Tyler of Clarksburg, WV; four sister-in-laws, Della Mae Tallman of Queens, WV, Evona Tallman of Vermillion, OH, Zelma Tallman of Buckhannon, Marilyn Tallman of Follansbee, WV; also several nieces and nephews. Bobby Joe was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was educated in Upshur County schools, was employed as a school bus driver, he was WV Department Of Highways Assistant Upshur County Supervisor, truck driver, coal miner, heavy equipment operator, logger and a farmer. He was a past member of the Upshur County Board of Education, one of the founding board members of the Washington District Fire Department, member of Upshur County Sportsman Club, Upshur County Farm Bureau, I.O.O.F. Lodge of Sand Run and a 40 year member of the Buckhannon Moose Lodge #598. He attended the Mt. Union United Methodist Church where he was a 50 year trustee/caretaker of the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 4-9 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brad Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mt. Union Church Cemetery C/O Joe Tallman, Rt. 2 Box 271, Buckhannon, WV 26201. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
