untitled2 Donald E. (Dan) Tenney Donald E. (Dan) Tenney, age 77, passed away on December 21, 2011 at his home in Richmond, VA. He was born June 1, 1934, a son of the late Bernard and Veatrice Hollen Tenney. On August 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Francis Ely Tenney. They spent 40 years together before she passed away in 1998. He is survived by one sister, Carol J. Dean of Buckhannon, WV and one brother, Ronald Hollen of Lake City, FL; two sons, Donald Jr., of Richmond, VA and Dennis of N.C; two daughters, Donna Tenney and Dorothy Tenney both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Elizabeth, Justin, Daniel and Noah; five great-grandchildren, Ta’von, Tashara, Takashia, Tayonna and Billy, Jr; four nieces and one nephew. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters, Thelma Reed and Katherine Hollen; two nieces, Charlotte Bartlett and Deborah Dean. Don was raised at Ten Mile, WV, where he lived for 22 years. He left in 1956 to join the US Army. His request for cremation will be honored. There will be no services. His ashes along with his wife’s ashes will be scattered in a small roadside park on Rt. 250 in the mountains. This park is where they stopped and spent time when coming home for a visit.
