Obituary of Bernice Leona Tomey

TomeyBernice Bernice Leona Tomey Bernice Leona Tomey, age 74, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, WV. She was born February 11, 1934 in Gilmer County, WV, a daughter of the late Maise and Pearl Young Furr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Helen Carr and Wahneta Powell. She is survived by one daughter, Lori Dawn Ward and husband John of Buckhannon; one granddaughter, Katherine Jean Ward of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Charlton Ward, III of Buckhannon; two sisters, Verlyn Rexroad of Buckhannon and Murl Smith of Cincinnati, OH and three brothers, Guy Furr of Medina, OH, Kenneth Nelson Furr of Lodi, OH and Larry Furr of Weston, WV. Mrs. Tomey was a schoolteacher for Upshur County Board of Education and a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckhannon. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 4-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev.
