Obituary of Wanda J. Tenney

TenneyWanda Wanda J. Tenney Wanda J. Tenney, age 84, of Buckhannon, WV, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at her home under the care of the St. Joseph’s Hospice. She was born on September 27, 1922 in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Denzil and Dolly (Tenney) Hawkins. On June 22, 1944 she married Leland Tenney who preceded her in death on March 27, 2006. Mrs. Tenney is survived by four sons; Leland Douglas Tenney and wife Judy, Dennis Tenney and wife Navonda, Delmar Tenney and wife Darla and James Tenney all of Buckhannon; three daughters Kathryn Reed, Shirley Reed, and Linda Keffer all of Buckhannon; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, George Hawkins of Buckhannon and one sister, Wilda Kimble of OH. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Tina Hawkins and four siblings. Mrs. Tenney was a homemaker and was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM on Monday, August 13, 2007 at the Poling–St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Karen Frazier. Burial will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV.
