Obituary of David Reed Oldaker

David Reed Oldaker David Reed Oldaker David Reed Oldaker, age 82, of Buckhannon, WV died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born October 25, 1931 in Buckhannon, a son of the late Okey and Buena Reed Oldaker. On June 7, 1952 he married Rosalee V. Cogar who survives. Also surviving are one son, David L. Oldaker and wife Robin of Buckhannon; one daughter, Roberta L. Talbott and companion Denny Fisher of Buckhannon; three grandsons, Isaac Reed “Ike” Talbott and girlfriend Carlene Chidester and Quinten Reed Oldaker and wife Darla all of Buckhannon and Tyler Robert Oldaker and girlfriend Allison Miller of Morgantown, WV; one granddaughter, SSG. Sally Ann Talbott and companion John Herrera of Fort Bragg, NC; two brothers, Bob Oldaker and wife Betty of Rock Cave, WV and Tom Oldaker and wife Angie of Buckhannon; two sisters, Wanda Miller of Buckhannon and Karen Hinkle and husband Gail of West Milford, WV and a special niece Karen Groves and husband Mike of Dade City, FL. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Willard Miller and his sister-in-law, Shirley Oldaker. Mr. Oldaker was a Supervisor at Moore Business Forms and a lifelong member of the Mt. Herman UMC in Buckhannon. David served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. The family would like to send a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport for their excellent care and compassion. Friends will be received Friday, July 18, 2014 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack M. Bohman and the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhannon Memorial Park in Buckhannon. The Upshur Co. Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside.
