Obituary of Ellet W. Osburn

Ellet W. Osburn, Jr. Ellet Wilson “Jack” Osburn, Jr. Ellet Wilson “Jack” Osburn, Jr., age 90, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. He was born June 3, 1924 in Ellamore, WV, a son of the late Ellet Wilson and Lillie Belle Lamb Osburn. On June 27, 1953 he married Imelda Hawkins who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Judy Long and husband John of Bethesda, MD, Debra Garnes of Charleston, WV and Jackie Shaner and husband Jeff of Raleigh, NC; one granddaughter, Ashley Long of Bethesda; four grandsons, Nathaniel and Christopher Garnes both of Charleston, Ellet “Mick” Shaner and Jack Shaner both of Raleigh; one sister, Evelyn McIntyre of Buckhannon and a son in law, Clifford Garnes of Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Miller and four brothers, Richard, Henry, John and Frances Osburn. Mr. Osburn was a Case Examiner for the State of WV. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Buckhannon. He served in the Navy during WW II. Friends will be received on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. He will lie in state from 12-1 PM the funeral hour on Monday at the Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. Upshur County Honor Guard will provide Military Honors at the graveside. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com.
