Carol Ann Baxa
Carol Ann Baxa, age 65, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, January 6, 2013 in Broomes Island, MD at the home of her brother in the company of her family. She was born February 10, 1947 in San Diego, CA, a daughter of the late Carrel E. and Anna Lea Morgan Suder. On December 19, 1963 she married Sherman Wesley Baxa, Jr. who survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Stephanie Ann Frankenfield and husband Robert of Upper Marlboro, MD; one son, Christopher Blaine Baxa and wife Tara of Owings, MD; two grandsons, Christopher Blaine “CJ” Baxa, Jr. and Cody Wesley Baxa both of Owings; four granddaughters, Rebecca Ann Stickell and husband Joseph “JP” of Brandywine, MD, Rachel Ann Frankenfield and Brittany Michelle Frankenfield both of Upper Marlboro and Erika Renee Baxa of Owings; one brother, Monzel Lawson Suder and wife Amber of Broomes Island and two nephews, Monty and wife Corinne and Scott and wife Jesi Suder both of St. Leonard, MD. Mrs. Baxa was a School Bus Driver for Prince Georges County, MD. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary unit # 7 and former Chaplain for the past 3 years of Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion and an active member of the Sand Run Baptist Church of Excelsior, WV. Friends will be received Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. She will lie in state from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Sand Run Baptist Church with a funeral service at 12 Noon with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Cemetery in Excelsior. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Sand Run Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Rt. 2 Box 137-B, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
