Obituary of Susan Jean Moss Osborn

Susan Osborn Susan Jean Osborn Susan Jean Osborn, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, May 12, 2014 at her home. She was born August 2, 1922 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late John W. and Eda Serenda Lantz Moss. On October 16, 1944 she married Steven Brady Osborn who preceded her in death on December 24, 2011. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Clyde Roy Clark; one son, Robert Steven “Bob” Osborn; one sister, Margaret Irisha Wamsley and three brothers, Ishmael, Lairl and Victor Moss. She is survived by one daughter, Suetta B. “Bonnie” Gooden and husband Frank Allen of Buckhannon; one son, Roger H. Clark of Buckhannon; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Osborn was a homemaker and a member of the Nay Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Randolph Chapter # 74 Order of the Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. and Elkins Order of the Elks # 163. She was an avid hunter and loved to camp with her family and be outdoors. The family would like to thank all of Susan’s caregivers who took excellent care of her and loved her very much. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Miller and the Rev. Dr. Basil Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Church Cemetery at Tallmansville, WV. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nay Chapel UMC, 3289 Mt. Union Road, Buckhannon, WV 26201.
