Obituary of Wanda M. Smith

Wanda M. Smith Wanda M. Smith Wanda M. Smith, age 91, of Buckhannon, WV died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Holbrook’s Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She was born August 10, 1923 in Upshur County, WV, a daughter of the late Carl and Delphia Slaughter Rowan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bertie Ray Smith and Arnold Smith; one son, Mack Kelley and one brother, James Rowan. She is survived by four daughters, Lucille Harper and Marie Reid both of French Creek and Irene Smith and Olene Roby both of Buckhannon; three sons, Vernon and Howard Smith both of Buckhannon and Fred Smith of Truby Run, WV and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. Friends will be received Wednesday, December 31, 2014 from 6-8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. She will lie in state from 10-11 AM on Thursday at the Rock Cave Independent Baptist Church with funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor David Jessie and the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating.
