Obituary of Waneta O. Snyder

Waneta Snyder Waneta Murphy Waneta Murphy went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2014 after a short stay in West View nursing home in Wooster, Ohio. Waneta was born in Barbour County, WV. On February 17, 1921 to Clinton and Roxy Thompson. She was one of seven children. She married Elmer Murphy on November 6, 1938. Elmer and Waneta had 4 children. Carrie Fuller of Smithville, Ohio, Wayne Murphy of Palmyra, VA., William Murphy of Simi Valley, California and Roger Murphy of Gulf Breeze, Fla. Elmer and Waneta bought a farm in Upshur County in 1946 where their children were raised. Elmer died unexpectedly in 1968. She later married Rev. Elza Green who died in 1998 and Jack Snyder who died in 2001…. Waneta moved to Smithville, Ohio in 2004 to be near her daughter Carrie who provided an abundance of love and care to the end. She is survived by her 96 year old sister Creola of Orville, Ohio, her four children, Wayne and Jean Murphy of Palmyra, Va., Carrie and Archie(Sonny) Fuller of Smithville, Ohio, William (Butch) and Susan Murphy of Simi Valley, California, and Roger and Dorothy Murphy of Gulf Breeze, Fla. Eleven grandchildren, Kim Fuller of Columbus, Ohio, Ron Fuller of Smithville, Ohio, Sheila Tweeddale of Lexington, Ma, Shari Murphy of Campbell Hall, NY, Christy Lindvall of Richmond, VA, Laurie Howell of Lawrence, Ks, Matt Murphy of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Megan Compton of Lima Ohio. Melissa Miller of Delaware, Ohio, Janine Kimbrel of Columbus, Ohio, Adam Bauer Canton of Ohio. She is blessed with 24 great grandchildren and numerous step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Waneta was a long time member of Union Mission Church in Buckhannon, WV. A viewing will be held at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6-8 PM with the family present. The service will be at the Union Mission Church on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10 AM with burial to follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Philippi, WV.
