James H. Stump James H. Stump James H. Stump, age 89, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice. He was born March 12, 1925 in Webster Springs, WV a son of the late James Claude and Leva Hamrick Stump. On August 4, 1946 he married Malinda Jane “Linda” Hamrick, who preceded him in death on November 29, 2005. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one grandson, John Michael Whitehair, Jr.; two sister and two brothers. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Cutright and husband Terry, Rose Whitehair and husband Mike and Teresa Maxwell and husband Dave all of Buckhannon; one son, Micheal L. Stump and wife Celesta of Buckhannon; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister; two brothers and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stump was a Mining Superintendent for the Badger Coal Co. He was a member of Chapel Hill UMC, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, VFW Post #3663, Military Order of Purple Heart, Tennerton Lions Club, Franklin Lodge #7 A.F & A.M. and the Upshur Co. Shrine Club. James was an avid golfer. Friends will be received Monday, March 17, 2014 from 5 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald M. McCauley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Buckhannon Memorial Mausoleum in Buckhannon. The Lewis Co. Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
